about

the "cyclist's guide" title came about on a contemplative bicycle ride along the fox river in oshkosh wisconsin. since then, this album went through a few shifts, resulting in the loose idea for a concept-album surrounding a fictional barbershop quintet.

then it kinda sat dormant for months. in that time, my musical interests shifted from this concept to my kitschy electronic project (xpaint.bandcamp.com), which is presently far more enjoyable to work on and is something im a lot more proud of.

so here i give you the cyclist's guide, in abridged form. many other songs were started but not expanded upon, and a few of those completed were omitted at my discretion, for one of several reasons.

from here, i don't have any immediate plans for the next "mark silver" album, which is exactly the break i've needed. i'm pretty tapped out lyrically, and quite frankly i'm ok with that.

i do however have many plans for the xpaint project going into 2020, so if you want quirky synth music made by me (and some of my musical friends in the near future), that's the place to be.

all revenue generated by this album will be donated to the hopkins center for psychedelic research, but feel free to donate to them directly instead (hopkinspsychedelic.org)
